QBit Semiconductor Formally Organized

QBit Semiconductor announced today it has been formally organized as QBit Semiconductor LTD., a Taiwan company. The Chinese name is 通寶半導體設計公司. QBit started with US$5 million seed capital from New Kinpo Group (NKG), a major Taiwan-based electronics manufacturer. QBit is currently a wholly owned subsidiary of NKG. QBit expects in the future to become a joint venture company as other investors join NKG to invest in QBit. QBit was formed by a team of former Qualcomm engineers who developed the widely adopted Quatro family of system-on-chip (SOC) integrated circuits for printer and scanners. QBit’s mission is to develop the next generation of SOCs for printers, scanners, and other smart edge devices. QBit has offices in Taipei City, Taiwan and Littleton, Massachusetts, USA, near Boston.
