Three Core Technologies and Two Platform Frameworks
QBit builds on three core technologies and extends them into two platform architectures to deliver a complete solution for smart edge devices. Our SOCs enable smart edge devices to process images and audio locally while intelligently deciding when to offload tasks to the more powerful computing resources in the cloud.
Three Core Technologies
Our new generation highly integrated SOC family, the QBit QB6 SOC Family, has entered mass production. The QB6 devices are designed for smart imaging and document solutions, including laser printers, LED printers, multifunction peripherals (MFP), thermal printers, 3D printers, and document scanners. The QB6 SOC Family consolidates the key requirements of smart printing and imaging devices into a single chip: industry-standard ARM CPU cores, dedicated image-processing hardware and DSP, precise mechanism control, and rich networking capabilities.
QBit’s three core technology pillars are Precision Motion Control, Intelligent Image Process;and Energy-Aware Sensing Management.

Precision Motion Control
Cost is a primary design driver for smart edge devices. QBit SOCs adopt state-of-the-art mixed-signal co-design that tightly integrates timing generators, data converters, and PHY interfaces, enabling unified control of multiple sensors, scan engines, and diverse motor-control interfaces with flexible I/O and high-speed data paths. This architecture not only improves overall system robustness but also allows new products to adapt quickly to different device form factors. From a system perspective, we look beyond chip cost alone and help reduce total BOM, for example by minimizing the need for external timing devices, voltage regulators, memory components, cabling, and EMI-related parts.

Intelligent Image Process
While humans naturally distinguish different types of content, smart edge devices rely on dedicated algorithms to recognize structures such as document layout, speech, gestures, and facial expressions. QBit’s content‑recognition technology is built on our long‑term expertise in “text–image separation” algorithms. These techniques distinguish photos, text, and line art within a document and apply optimized processing to each category, achieving the best possible image quality under constrained system resources.

Energy-Aware Sensing Management
A key challenge inherent in smart devices is how to monitor for events that require action while using as little power as possible. We call this always-aware standby operation. The SOC must turn off all unneeded blocks, put the system memory into self-refresh power down mode, efficiently monitor activity, and quickly turn on blocks and system memory to process activity as needed. QBit’s SOCs incorporate fine-grain power islands and programmable monitoring to enable products that use barely any power while always being ready to respond to user and network activity.

Two Platform Frameworks
Built on these three core capabilities—Intelligent Image Process, Precision Motion Control, and Energy-Aware Sensing Management—QBit has further developed a Security Platform and Unified Software Architecture Platform to provide customers with secure and highly scalable solutions.

Security Platform
The Security Platform introduces a secure boot process at the chip start-up stage, combining conventional cryptography with post-quantum cryptography (PQC) to form a dual-layer defense. This architecture strengthens resistance to quantum-era attacks while maintaining stability and compatibility with existing systems. The implementation has passed CAVP security certification, demonstrating the robustness and reliability of our solution.
Unified Software Architecture Platform
QBit’s in-house Quasar software platform uses a unified architecture to support multiple generations of QBit SOCs, simplifying customer development workflows and reducing long-term maintenance overhead. Quasar offers broad operating-system support, including Linux, Android, FreeRTOS, and Yocto, helping customers accelerate development schedules and bring a wide range of embedded and intelligent devices to market more quickly.
QBit designs system-on-chip (SOC) integrated circuits for smart imaging and smart edge devices.
